What a difference! We hired Tracey and Julia to stage our home. Our initial consultation was extremely thorough and detailed. Tracey spent a great deal of time with us (after having driven to South Anchorage from Eagle River the day after we got two feet of snow) explaining things we could do to prepare our home for sale. In addition, we received a written report of her recommendations detailing how we could stage our home ourselves. After a great deal of consideration we decided to have Tracey and Julia stage our home. We left for work one day while they worked, and when we got home we were greeted with an entirely different house. Julia and Tracey, again, took the time to go through the house with us to make sure we were completely satisfied with the new layout. Julia went above and beyond our expectations when she came over to help us restage the house after it was steam cleaned and all the furniture was moved! It has been a number of weeks since they staged the house, but we are still amazed at how beautiful everything looks. The service that ReFeathering provides is well worth it! Tracey and Julia are observant of deadlines, flexible, extremely professional, and very caring. We only wish they would come with us to design our new house

Tracey rearranged my living room furniture and repurposed furniture and accent pieces from other areas of my home. I felt like I was part of one of those television makeover shows. Everyone has made comment about how much better my living room looks. Even children who came trick or treating this year said, “your living room looks pretty”. Thank you Tracey, you are my decorator and friend for life.

Julia did a redesign of our middle floor. We live in a home that is about 30 years old and we love the location, but have had some issues with how the original interior was put together, in particular there is insufficient storage space in the home. Julia worked up a plan that included some minor structural enhancements that will greatly improve our situation. She also worked with us to update the home interior furniture and decoration scheme.
Julia met with us first and asked us lots of questions to determine what we like, our lifestyle and our needs for our home. After that meeting she did her research and presented us with a plan complete with samples of flooring, tile, fabric, lighting, and photos of furniture selections. It was an interactive process where when we told her we did not care for one thing, she went back and found something else. Julia was very responsive to our needs and attentive to what we said or did not say. She was sensitive to budget limits and steered us appropriately. Julia stayed on time with the project and met deadlines that were set. She has a great intuition for this work. Julia’s professionalism and dedication cannot be matched.
As a result of her services we have a clear plan that we love for the remodel of our home. We are just getting started, so I apologize for not having any photos to share with you.
I believe you will be very happy with ReFeathering’s services. They are an excellent service and very committed to making the client satisfied.

Tracey Wood and Julia Martin of ReFeathering were students in my Interior Design class. Their work and presentations went far beyond what I expected from my students. They were eager to learn, always participated in the classes with great ideas and suggestions and the other students looked to Tracey and Julia for their knowledge of Interior Design. They certainly demonstrated their superior ability in design in my class.

Adjunct Instructor,
I write this letter in support of Julia Martin, and to recommend her skills as a designer and organizer. As an Army spouse, the challenge I often face as we move around is how to quickly make a new house a home. The last time we moved, we had purchased new furniture for our new house before the old furniture arrived. When it did, and after the unpacking had been done, I was left with a jumble of old and new, and nothing looked quite right together. One day, as I was bemoaning this fact, and my lack of ideas for remedying the situation, Julia graciously offered to take a look. Later in the week, we went shopping together, and she helped me find just a few simple pieces to add. She then helped me place them, rearranging things here and there, with the end result of a clean, coordinated, and colorful living space. I was thrilled because not only was it a beautiful room, but also, and more importantly, it reflected well my husband’s and my personalities. As we talked about options, styles, and color choices, Julia kept in mind not only our tastes, but also our budget. She was able to guide me to stores where I could find quality pieces that were within my price range. With just a few subtle changes, Julia helped our living room to come together, and to be a place we loved spending time in. We then moved on to other rooms and she helped me tackle my own organizational challenges, and to make the rest of the house into a beautiful home. Beyond her talents as a designer, I have to say that it has always been a joy to work with Julia. Her joy and passion for making spaces beautiful and organized always makes the experience an absolute pleasure. I am now fortunate to call Julia a friend as well, and she has been, among other things, dependable, reliable, and strong. Without hesitation, I would recommend Julia to meet any design or organizational needs. - Kirstin Danner Batchelor
